There is no charge for a mechanic coming to try and repair your vehicle at the roadside.

A trained mechanic will spend up to one hour trying to fix your vehicle at the roadside. This does not cover the cost of any new parts that may be required.

If a roadside mechanic can't fix your vehicle, it will be taken to a nearby garage within 20 miles of the breakdown to be repaired at your cost.

If your vehicle can't be fixed on the same day you'll be provided with one of the following:

• Your vehicle, the driver and up to six passengers to be taken home or to your intended destination, anywhere in the UK. Your vehicle will then be taken to a garage of your choice within 20 miles.
• Overnight bed and breakfast accommodation
• A hire vehicle

If your vehicle breaks down within one mile of your home, a trained mechanic will spend up to one hour trying to fix your vehicle. If it can't be fixed we will arrange for the vehicle to be taken to a local garage within 20 miles to be repaired at your cost.

If your vehicle breaks down in Europe, a trained mechanic will spend up to one hour trying to fix your vehicle. If it can't be fixed we will arrange for the vehicle to be taken to a local garage to be repaired. If your vehicle can't be repaired, you will be covered for the cost of recovery to a UK destination. The cost of delivery of spare parts is also covered.

If your vehicle breaks down in Europe and will take at least 8 hours to repair, we will either organise alternative onward travel arrangements, emergency car hire or emergency accommodation.

You'll be covered for mechanical failure, vandalism, punctures and flat batteries. You'll even be attended to if you run out of fuel, although the cost of replacement fuel is not covered.
