Van insurance users ditch the car this summer
Category: Van insurance
Research has found that van insurance customers are ditching the cars this summer in favour or more spacious vehicles.
A poll by Swinton Commercial found that 62 per cent of van insurance users find their car not spacious enough, while 53 per cent plan to take their vehicle on a UK holiday.
Phil Moss, commercial vehicle manager at Swinton, said it is great that van drivers are confident enough to take their vans for long distance drives, and it definitely makes sense to have as much space as possible in a holiday vehicle.
However, he urged all drivers who are taking their vans on holiday to take extra care, especially if travelling with children on board.
"This will ensure that the family summer holiday will be safe and successful, and will also reduce accidents on the road and keep van insurance premiums to a minimum," he added.
Van insurance users were told by Peter Rodger, IAM chief examiner to ensure they do their homework before travelling abroad.
