What type of home insurance cover can I get?

We offer three main types of home insurance: contents only, buildings only or a combined policy. Whichever policy you decide to purchase you can choose to tailor your policy to suit your needs and requirements you can add additional accidental damage personal possessions cover so that your possessions are covered away from the home and even change the amount of excess you pay. On top of that you can select a number of add on elements such as payment protection insurance, home emergency protection and household legal protection.

Can I insure my home if it is used for business?

We are happy to insure your home and its contents if the business use is confined to routine paperwork, telephone calls and computer work. The policy we arrange covers you for up to £5000 worth of business equipment. If this does not fulfil your requirements please call 0800 458 1604. When will I receive my insurance documents?

You should allow 3 working days for any documents that you request from us. These will be sent in the post.

What's the maximum number of bedrooms you will cover me for?

We provide cover for properties with up to 5 bedrooms. If you have 6 or more bedrooms please call 0800 458 1604 when an advisor will search a panel of insurers for the best deal for your circumstances.

Do I get any No Claim Discount?

Yes, we reward customers with up to 30% off their quote if they have not claimed in the past. The discount given will depend on the number of years you have continuously held insurance without making a claim.

Do I get a discount if I have an alarm?

Yes, you could receive a discount if you have a NACOSS approved and maintained alarm fitted.

What are the content and building limits?

The policy we arrange has a contents limit of up to £50,000 and a buildings limit of up to £500,000. This comes as standard if you choose a combined policy. For full policy terms, conditions, restrictions and exclusions please see the Policy Wording.

Does the contents cover include accidental damage?

As standard, the policy automatically provides cover for accidental damage and breakage to specific items in your home for example damage to all your TV’s, hi fis and computers to name but a few. As well as breakage of mirrors and fixed glass in furniture such as coffee tables. However, you can choose to increase the amount of accidental damage you have to cover events such as spillages on carpets, iron burns and accidents with paint etc. For full policy terms, conditions, restrictions and exclusions please see the Policy Wording.

Are the contents in my garage covered within this policy?

All contents in garages, outbuildings, sheds etc are covered within the contents section of the policy for loss or damage up to £2500. For full policy terms, conditions, restrictions and exclusions please see the Policy Wording.

Are my keys covered in the policy?

If your keys are accidentally lost or stolen then up to £250 will be paid for the cost of replacing and fitting the new locks and keys. For full policy terms, conditions, restrictions and exclusions please see the Policy Wording.

My child is at university – will their belongings be covered?

If your child is at university the policy cover will pay up to £5000 for loss or damage to their personal belongings whilst they are studying full time within the UK. For full policy terms, conditions, restrictions and exclusions please see the Policy Wording.
