Falling petrol prices across Europe could see those with tourer bike insurance getting more for their money this summer, it has been suggested.
According to the Post Office, diesel is cheaper everywhere in Europe except the UK and could prove an affordable way of travelling around the continent.
"Whilst price reductions introduced since last year are make motoring holidays an attractive proposition, tourists need to check the price of unleaded petrol compared to diesel to ensure they dont get caught out," suggested Sarah Munro, Post Office head of travel.
She added that people need to buy currency ahead of their trips to make sure they are getting the most from their money by avoiding overseas ATM charges.
According to research from greenbee.com on holidays in 2009, 34 per cent of Brits spend a whole day trying to find the best holiday deal compared to just 17 per cent looking for the perfect destination.
