Motorcycle insurance customers have learned that the Isle of Man's group of advanced riders has expanded to include TT marshal and former tourism minister Adrian Earnshaw.
Mr Earnshaw passed his first motorcycle test in 1966 at the age of 16 on a Triumph Tiger Cub and has been biking ever since, the Isle of Man Today reports.
However, he recently had the urge to get his riding skills as sharp as possible and, with the help of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), used a Suzuki GSX1400 to pass the advanced test and join the island's biking elite, who meet for regular social runs.
"I've learned a lot of valuable hints about improving observation and the location of a lot of cafes around the Island where we stopped for a debrief on our practice runs," Mr Earnshaw told the paper.
The IAM recently advised bikers to look well ahead of them and change direction early to give them time to deal with the UK's recent spate of potholes.
