The beauty therapist industry in the UK has flourished in recent years, with trade up and more and more therapists opening successful businesses. In fact, so strong is the demand for professional beauty therapy services, some salons have even gone 24/7.

Being busy is of course the lifeblood of a small business like yours, it’s what you thrive on. But as new techniques and technologies become more widely adopted, and clients demand ever more diverse treatments, it’s important that your business insurance protects you from an unexpected fly in the ointment. Unforeseen events or accidents that involve the public can have a significant financial effect on your business.

At Swinton we arrange specialist insurance for beauty therapists, regardless of how you choose to work. You may freelance from home, own your own premises, visit people’s homes or rent space in a studio. All of this can be factored in to your quote to get you our best price.

We compare quotes from leading UK insurers to help you find the right level of business liability insurance you need, taking in to account your individual circumstances. And your policy can be adapted to suit your requirements over time, or you can extend cover to help protect your equipment, staff and business premises.

What is Beauty Therapy insurance?

Beauty Therapy Insurance through Swinton Business covers your business from different types of risk associated with the professional service you provide when dealing with the public. If, for example, one of your clients injures themselves on a piece of your equipment, or slips on the floor, they may pursue a claim that leads to your business losing money. Similarly, if an error is made in the application of dyes, bleaches, face products or other treatment, this can cause you a financial headache.

Public Liability Insurance for Beauty Therapists

Public Liability Insurance from Swinton Business provides cover from £1 million that can be extended as required.

Treatment Risk Cover

We can extend your policy to include this specialist cover, alongside your Public Liability Insurance. While public liability protects you against accidents such as falls, or damage to the contents or property of a client you visit, Treatment Risk Cover will protect you for damage or injury arising out of treatments provided.

Can I protect my equipment and tools?

Business Equipment Insurance can be taken as an optional extra with your main business insurance, such as Public Liability Insurance. There are four levels of cover up to £10,000 and you are covered for any tools that are away from your base and overnight in a vehicle. Cover can even include PCs and Laptops used for your business.

The maximum claim per item is £1,500 and while equipment of tools stolen from vehicles by forced entry is covered, this is only if items are not visible and your vehicle security devices are working and activated. Policy underwritten by Astrenska Insurance Limited.
