Malaysian car maker Proton is a relative newcomer to the automotive industry, being founded in 1983. Today it exports its cars to more than 50 countries worldwide.
There are four basic models in the Proton range. The entry-level model is the compact city car the Savvy, while at the top of the range is the dual fuel Ecologic, which runs on both unleaded petrol and liquefied petroleum gas.
All Protons come with a comprehensive warranty that covers the car for three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes sooner. The warranty also covers the engine, gearbox and bodywork for six years or 100,000 miles, the paintwork for three years unlimited mileage plus you get three years free RAC cover.
