Swinton Group is celebrating after winning an award for its charity contribution.
Swinton has been given a bronze award from The Charities Trust, a leading donations management organisation, supported by the Government, which recognises businesses operating exceptional schemes.
The company has been awarded the accolade for the large amount it's raised for charities including The Children’s Society, Shelter UK and British Red Cross through the Payroll Giving scheme. The business donates £1,200 every month or £14,400 a year to a wide range of charities.
Anne Kirk, marketing director at Swinton Group, said: “Swinton is made up of a range of generous colleagues who give up their time to support a range of charities and their local communities by baking cakes, running marathons or indulging in fancy dress.”
Swinton matches funds for every charitable donation by 50% and offers an annual paid volunteering day for every member of staff at a chosen organisation. The company is donating to community organisations and charities up and down the country throughout August and September as part of its 60th anniversary celebrations.
Payroll Giving is an HMRC approved scheme which allows colleagues to make donations to a chosen charity, tax free, directly from work pay. The scheme is committed to adding £5 to a single donation each month.
