Green-fingered colleagues at Swinton Group, the UK high street broker, partnered with City of Trees for a festive fundraiser as part of National Tree Week.
Members of the marketing team raised £367 by selling decorative mini desk Christmas trees and festive decorations to staff at Swinton’s headquarters at 101 Embankment.
Anne Kirk, Marketing Director at Swinton Group, said: “This Christmas charity campaign worked well as the mini trees will not only purify the air in our office but are environmentally friendly because they can be replanted at home. The money we’ve raised will go towards supporting the City of Trees movement in its ambitious goal to plant three million trees for Greater Manchester.”
Sian Day, fundraising manager at City of Trees, said: “It’s fantastic to be working with Swinton Group and we’re really grateful for their support. Each year City of Trees spends around £1m connecting people to the places that matter to them through tree planting and woodland management projects. We rely on donations like this one to make it happen.”
National Tree Week was established in 1975 and is the UK's largest tree celebration, which launches at the start of the winter tree planting season.
Swinton is working with City of Trees, a charity which aims to improve the city region’s landscape by planting a tree for every man, woman and child in Greater Manchester.
